You have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.” For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children. And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering.

Ephesians 6:11-13 Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.

Ephesians 4:22-24

Sweet Mr. N is 4!

If words could express my love for this boy...
Well, they just can't.
There are no words to describe
the depth and wonder in my heart each time I look at him.

My little baby... sweet and adorable.
He lived in the crook of my arm mostly,
but if I put him down he didn't cry.
He just didn't cry.

Each time I look at him I would pinch myself...
I don't deserve him!

His round face and innocent eyes would stare at me quietly,
intently.

The quiet didn't last for long, however. Around 9 months he discovered his voice.

In a big way.

In a happy, singing, shouting, praising kind of way.
I can't tell you how many people I apologized to in restaurants...
But at least he's happy!

The imagination on this kid lasts all day.
There is a voice for everything.
There is a song for everything.

He doesn't stop singing.
Or dancing.

And I love it.

Noah has such a big heart.
He worries about everyone.
Even the characters on TV.
Deeply.

He is super cuddly,
Mr. sociable...
has no problem expressing his every single feeling...
and much of the time his feeling is
THANKFULNESS
He is very expressive of how grateful he is,
and it really touches me.

In fact today after being tucked in for bed,
Daniel went in the boys' room to see why N was sitting up talking...

And N said,
"I was just counting all my blessings, Daddy!"
and then he went on listing them.....

Happy 4th Birthday

to the boy who stole my heart.
I am so thankful for you.
I am so thankful that I get the joy of being your mama.

The Big C turns 6

I can't believe my son is 6!

Remembering the day he was born... he was a big boy with deep blue eyes and a very serious expression on his face.

Now that I know him, it doesn't surprise me that he was such a serious looking baby.
He was determined to figure it all out from the beginning!

Mr. C. is a perfectionist. (Sometimes I think it drives him a little crazy)! He likes to talk about deep, theological topics and has such interesting things to say! I don't feel lonely for adult conversation when he's around...
we have such wonderful discussions.

He is an amazing big brother to N and Ladybug, teaching them what he knows and showing compassion and concern when they are hurt or sick.
He loves them both with all his heart.
He's a big cuddler!
And he's so very helpful!

I feel so spoiled by him. I feel like I won the lottery when he was born. Just having somebody like C in my life blesses me each day. I hope that he knows how much I love him, and how I cannot imagine life without him.

I love his heart so much!

Happy Birthday Mr. C

The Story of Us

a VERY shortened version.

I wasn't going anywhere on Nov. 29, 2001. I was staying home, doing laundry and preparing for work the next morning. But my two closest friends were telling me to come to Bennigan's for dinner, and with our work schedules and busy lives it was a rare event so I went. Across the room I saw him looking at me. He smiled. I left to put away laundry and came back to visit with my friends for a little while longer. He was still looking at me. Then he bumped into me, and said he was sorry (awkward) and my friend Sugi started talking to him and being her usual bubbly, outgoing self. I thought he was seriously cute. We started talking an almost an hour later he asked me if he could call me and we were pretty much inseparable from that point on...

I KNEW he was good. There was no denying that he was kind, hard-working, and loved his family.

What I didn't know was that he would be my rock. My spiritual leader. Remaining steadfast through my times of uncertainty and weakness. This is a really big deal, because I don't know where I'd be without him.

God knew me.
He knew I needed Daniel.

We were married 8 years ago today!
February 1, 2003

And I love him more than words can say.

Ladybug's is 2

So she's not officially 2 years old until Friday at 8am.... but I just can't wait to celebrate my little girl.

I couldn't have imagined her in my wildest dreams. God made her perfectly, and one of a kind!

Those first 6 weeks she slept in the my arms because it was where she wanted to be. The other night she woke up and called for me (that never happens) and I treasured those moments cuddling with my baby... only she's not a baby anymore.

It's official.
She's a BIG GIRL.
She says so.

How did that happen anyways.
I am so thankful for this little girl who is daughter to The King!

(and so glad I get to be her mama... couldn't imagine life without her)

She is
Vivacious
Spunky
Fearless
Affectionate

She loves laying on her brother's beds and playing with their toys.
And standing in front of the TV when they watch their favorite shows. Attention everyone, I am right here!!! She loves her brothers so much and they know it.

She looks into her daddy's eyes and says so sweetly "Daddy". oh. no,.... she's so got him.

She is the cutest Ladybug I've ever seen.
